Cardinal Mooney announced March 28 that boys basketball coach Stefan Gates has stepped down from the position to focus on his new role as assistant principal. Gates coached the team for 11 seasons.
Baseball
Cardinal Mooney lost 8-4 to The Out-of-Door Academy in the championship game of the Taylor Emmons Memorial Classic. Senior Parker Shanahan had a double and a home run in the losing effort.
Softball
Booker beat Gibbs 13-0. Jesse McCrea threw a complete game shutout for the Tornadoes and added three RBI at the plate.
Lacrosse
The Riverview boys team beat Tampa Catholic 16-4.
