Local philanthropist Sam Shapiro turned 99 last month. From the Sally and Sam Shapiro Babies and Children’s Medical Center to Shapiro’s support of Art Center Sarasota and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Sarasota County, Shapiro’s philanthropic efforts reach the far and wide. To celebrate his milestone birthday, he attended a Caymus wine dinner at Harry’s Continental Kitchens with his son, Tom.
