MTV’s "Siesta Key" reality show is coming back for at least eight more episodes next year, according to a release from the network.

The tenth and final episode for the summer airs Monday, Oct. 2. Describing the show as a “smash hit,” the network elected to give the series eight more episodes, set to air in winter 2018. This addition brings the first season's total to 18.

According to an MTV spokesperson, all of the current cast members are returning. Production is currently under way.

The show was met with concern from Siesta Key and Sarasota residents, who were worried about attracting unwanted attention to the area. Others weren't convinced it would change anything about life on the Key.

The show, which aired in July, follows seven affluent college students and recent graduates alongside their friends as they spend their summer in Siesta Key.

The show is MTV’s top performing new series since summer 2014, and is the number one original cable series in its time period, the release stated.

MTV has not said whether the show will return for a second season.
