Jean K. Green

Jean Green, 87, of Longboat Key and Sarasota, died Sept. 30.

Mrs. Green was born on July 29, 1930, in Boston.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; her parents; and one sister.

She is survived by her three sons, Barry, Michael and Richard Green; brother, Edward Kaplan, and three grandchildren.

 

Roscoe Brown

Roscoe “Rocky” Brown, 74, of Longboat Key, died Sept. 25.

 

Howard Lowsky

Howard Lowsky, 89, of Sarasota, died Sept. 28.

Mr. Lowsky was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and raised in North Bergen, N.J.

Mr. Lowsky, and his wife, Lois, raised their family in Elmsford, N.Y., and spent many summers in Harvey Cedars, N.J.

Mr. Lowsky served as a drill sergeant and meteorologist in the United States Army Air Corps at the end of World War II.

After a career as a business owner, Mr. Lowsky retired to Longboat Key and Manhattan with Mrs. Lowsky. Mr. Lowsky was a tennis player most of his adult life and enjoyed the theater, the New York Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera and fine dining.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lois; sons Michael, Jonathan and Steve; their spouses; five grandchildren; sister Barbara Baum; and numerous nieces and friends.
