East County football roundup: 10.13.17

Braden River High defeated Sarasota High 41-14 in a game that left Pirates coach Curt Bradley unsatisfied despite the final score. 

Lakewood Ranch High, in the first game of a difficult three-game stretch, fell 45-7 to Palmetto High. Senior Chase Sharp had the Mustangs' lone touchdown, a 16-yard run. 

The Pirates and Mustangs will play each other Oct. 20 at Braden River. 

The Out-of-Door Academy hosted Kennedy Catholic (Somers, N.Y.) and defeated the Gaels 38-7. Senior quarterback Gus Mahler went 5-8 for 105 yards, ran for 25 yards and had three total touchdowns. Senior running back Dakota Dickerson added two rushing touchdowns. 

The Thunder will host St. Petersburg Catholic on Oct. 20.
