“Party with a Purpose” was the theme of the marketing campaign for Saks Fifth Avenue's 12th annual Key to the Cure, and for good reason.
The event brings generous community members together to eat, drink, shop and socialize, all while supporting Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation. Since 2005, SMHF has used the event to raise more than $1.3 million for Women’s Cancer Programs at Sarasota Memorial Health Care System.
SMHF funding, which includes money raised through Key to the Cure, covers approximately 1,000 breast-health visits for low-income or uninsured locals.
Organizers sold more than 1,000 tickets for the event on Oct. 12 at Saks Fifth Avenue. Guests sipped, snacked and shopped in between performances by several DJs and musicians along with Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe and Sarasota Cuban Ballet School.
