Sarasota football roundup: 10.13.17

Riverview High became the area's first team to clinch a playoff berth, defeating rival Manatee High 42-14 and taking the Class 8A, District 6 title in the process. All six Rams touchdowns were of the rushing variety. Senior quarterback Arthur Brantley IV had three of them. Junior Ali Boyce had one of his own, plus 144 yards. 

Booker High finally got its offense rolling and beat DeSoto County High 39-0. Tornadoes senior Jermaine Ziegler had a kickoff return touchdown, a punt return touchdown and a passing touchdown to senior Talik Keaton in the victory. 

Sarasota High fell 41-14 to Braden River High, in a game that saw Sailors coach Brian Ryals get ejected. 

Cardinal Mooney High defeated Saint Petersburg Catholic 35-0.
