Middle school lacrosse players around Lakewood Ranch used to have nowhere to turn when they reached high school.
Now, things are starting to change. After months of behind-the-scenes work, Lakewood Ranch High School has been given the go-ahead by Manatee County to offer boys and girls lacrosse programs at the school. The teams will participate in the spring 2018 season.
Lakewood Ranch and Manatee High School are the only county high schools offering lacrosse teams.
Jason Morales will coach the boys team and Sammy Stoltz will coach the girls team. Both coaches are also part of local club team Monsters Lacrosse Academy.
Weekly conditioning sessions for both the boys and girls teams have begun, with the boys practicing Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30 p.m., and the girls practicing Tuesdays from 2:45-4 p.m.
For more information, contact Morales at [email protected] or Stoltz at [email protected].
