Those wandering around St. Armands Circle Oct. 31 were in for tricks and treats.
The 9th annual Fright Night on St. Armands brought out the Halloween spirit in all ages.
As the sun began to set, the Circle became crowded with all kinds of characters, such as Moana, Darth Vader and Spiderman ready to celebrate Halloween in a spooktacular way.
Before watching the Sarasota High School Drama Department perform Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” kids and their parents walked from store to store in search of candy.
Diana Corrigan, executive director of the St. Armands Association, said Fright Night is one of the association’s biggest events, along with December’s Holiday Nights.
Between the “Thriller” performance and seeing the kids dressed up, Corrigan has a hard time deciding why she enjoys this event so much.
“It’s so hard to say, but watching the kids and adults get so excited,” she said. “Adults become kids again, and I love that.”
Next year the event will celebrate its tenth year, and to commemorate the anniversary Sarasota High School alumni who previously performed “Thriller” will come back and join current students for an encore performance.
