FASHION POLICE
7300 block of 52nd Place East, Bradenton
Petit theft: While at the department store, the woman selected a piece of jewelry and concealed it inside a bag she brought with her. The woman then paid for a few items and exited the store. Loss prevention had been watching the woman on video surveillance and saw that she did not pay for the jewelry. The officer stopped the defendant and discovered she had concealed other items as well. He detained her until sheriff’s office deputies arrived. The value of concealed items was $120.39. The business issued a trespass warning and the woman was released on a notice to appear in court.

FAMILY FEUD
400 block of Gates Creek Road, Bradenton
Information only: The woman stated she has power of attorney over her elderly mother, who she just brought home from the hospital. She said two relatives came down from Michigan and are causing problems. The deputy suggested she close and lock her gate to prevent the relatives from returning and to contact the sheriff’s office to issue a trespass warning if the problems continue.

RING AND MISS
6200 block of River Club Boulevard, Bradenton
Lost property: A student reported losing his Samsung cell phone at school. He had the phone at the bus stop and thought he put it in his pocket that morning, but when he checked for it after second period, it was not there. The phone had a gray top. The phone was not found at school.

SIGN FOR THE TIME
5200 block of 32nd Street East, Bradenton
Criminal mischief with property damage less than $1,000: The woman reported she had had parking problems with a tenant. She purchased a handicapped-only parking sign and placed it in front of the unit. Sometime overnight, someone took down and destroyed the sign. The woman also noticed the window of her 1984 Mercedes had been broken. She believes the tenant may be responsible.

FOLLOW THE MONEY
7200 block of Eleanor Circle, Sarasota
Use of another person’s I.D. without consent: The woman reported that someone attempted to transfer $10,000 from her Bank of America checking account. She did not have any paperwork to support the allegation.
ALL WASHED OUT
4800 block of Cabreo Court, Bradenton
Burglary of an unoccupied dwelling: Someone removed two GE dishwashers from homes under construction in the Esplanade neighborhood. The value of the items taken was about $1,400.
