UPDATE: Lido pool and pavilion closed until next week

UPDATE: After evaluating the conditions at Lido Beach, officials determined the Lido pool, pavilion and concession stand will remain closed until at least next week because of red tide.

City officials will re-evaluate the conditions at the pool on Monday to determine a possible reopening date. The concessionaire will consider reopening late next week, the city said.

Previously: Red tide continues to take a toll on Sarasota’s shores.

The latest affected party? The Lido Pavilion. The city announced Monday the pavilion and concession stand would be closed through Thursday because of red tide. On Tuesday, the city announced the Lido Pool will also be closed through Thursday.

The conditions will be reassessed on Thursday.
