1 — Cardinal Mooney High rising senior safety/running back Sam Koscho committed to Dartmouth College on July 2. 

2 — Aaron Whitley, 15, won the 13-15 division of the Florida State Golf Association's Girls Junior Amateur Championship at Bent Pine Golf Club in Vero Beach on June 29, shooting a three-round total of 216. 

3 — Former Sarasota High pitcher Joe Cavallaro, now with the A-level Columbia Fireflies (New York Mets) threw six innings, allowing two earned runs with seven strikeouts, and got the win in the Fireflies' 3-2 victory over the Augusta GreenJackets on June 30. 

4 — Sarasota High rising senior tight end Quinn York received a preferred walk-on offer from North Carolina State University on June 23.  

5 —The Pro Floors Racing NZ-1 boat (Chris Hanley and Wayne Valder) won the Super Cat division at the 34th-annual HotelPlanner Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix on July 1 in 41:43.18.
