The "time capsule" home, as it is affectionately called, recently sold for $3.5 million.
The home at 554 S. Spoonbill Drive on Bird Key has earned its name because everything inside the home has been preserved as much as possible since it was built in 1974.
Lynne Koy of Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate was the listing agent for the property, which has four bedrooms, five-and-a-half baths, a pool and 3,890 square feet of living area.
"The owners updated things as needed, like new carpets and new tile, but aesthetically, they kept everything the same," said Julia Antipova, a listing coordinator with Lynne Koy.
Those touches include original decor that includes wallpaper, fixtures and even acrylic door knobs.
According to property records, Edward Goldfarb, or Hingham, Mass., bought the home from Sarinvest SA. The home previously sold for $670,000 in 1997.
