Good Things Come in Small Packages: SCF Chamber Music Concert

State College of Florida’s small ensembles may be limited in size, but not talent. Enjoy this intimate concert experience in which the audience will be seated on stage with the musicians. The evening will feature SCF’s Brass Choir, the Woodwind Choir, a percussion quintet, a woodwind quintet, SCF’s Saxophone Choir, a brass quintet, and the SCF Presidential String Quartet and Jazz Quintet.

The Tony Award-nominated Broadway smash is coming to Sarasota. Follow the true story of the founder of Motown, Berry Gordy, who went from a career as boxer to a music mogul. Don't Miss: ‘Vessel Manuals’ Closing Reception

Ringling College of Art & Design and the Fine Arts Department present this senior thesis exhibition featuring work from Danny Jeffers, Hayley Denham and Jordan Daher. These students face the various facets of the human condition through abstraction, more or less evolved versions of humanity and alternative, environmentally conscious working methods.

This Pittsburgh native had plenty of comedic material from birth. Born to a Korean mother and Irish father, Steve Byrne channeled the dysfunctions of his upbringing in his first TV show, “Sullivan & Son” on TBS. Since then, he’s been making audiences laugh in comedies like “The Dilemma,” and “Couples Retreat.” Runs through March 31.

Singer Jimmy Mazz’s vocals will take audiences back to the days of Hank Williams and Johnny Cash while also crossing into the rock world with classics from stars like Bobby Darin and Elvis.

Nik's Pick: Harvey Milk Fundraiser ‘For the Novel ... A Queer Love Opera’

This collaboration between Shannon Fortner and Mac Melrose is a surreal exploration of dance and sound with a theme of personal narrative. This installation piece is an alliance between long-distance friends that will make audiences see a new perspective and ask questions such as, “How does our art inhabit this world?” Benefits Harvey Milk Festival 2018 (May 10-12).
