When did you start playing football?
When I was in sixth grade, for the East Manatee Bulldogs. My dad (Joey Theriot) played in high school, and I thought it would be fun to try.
What is the appeal to you?
It's just the best team sport to play. It's the only one where you can hit someone.
What is your best skill?
I'm a good leader on the field. When I speak up, I get players to listen to me.
What is your favorite memory?
Last season, scoring my first touchdown against Springstead High. It was a 25-yard pass (from quarterback Justin Curtis). I was playing tight end at the time.
What is the biggest challenge you have faced?
Changing positions as a senior and learning a new offense. It's different from what we were doing before, but I like it now. I think it will catch defenses off-guard. Each play has a bunch of different options. It lets the quarterback take control.
What is your favorite food?
Steak cooked medium rare, without a doubt.
What is your dream vacation?
Going to Australia. I have never been outside of the country. My dad has been to Australia and said it was a pretty cool place to visit.
What is the top quality you look for in a person?
Being easy to talk to, and outgoing. They have to be fun to be around.
What is the best advice you have received?
Never give up, and always keep working. It applies to everything you do in life.
