For the love of shoes
Tatyana Sharoubim-Stewart grew up around design and fashion. At 3 years old, she was already helping style and fit clients in her dad’s shoe store.
Her shoe choice Nov. 9 for Wine, Women & Shoes was meaningful for her. Twenty years ago, Tatyana’s father was gifted these neon green stiletto ankle boots by designer Gianmarco Lorenzi, and was told to give them to Tatyana one day.
Tatyana says she put on her boots in honor of her father and the impact he had on the shoe industry.
“Today I honor the shoes which have literally been the focus of my entire life,” Tatyana says.
Tatyana’s dad died in 2005, and Nov. 13 would have been his 70th birthday.
Throw some glitter, make it rain
The Firefly Gala is one-of-a-kind, bringing famous rockstars and
pop stars alike for intimate concert experiences.
Gala Chairwoman Ariane Dart got up on stage Nov. 9 at Wine, Women & Shoes to announce the 2019 artist, Ke$ha. This West Coast pop star strays away from the tradition of picking Florida natives, but we don’t mind the change up. There are also a few changes to the seating arrangements this year, with more info coming on that soon. Sponsorship packages for the March 30 gala are already selling out, and can be viewed on fireflygala.org.
We expect the glitter to be abundant at this fun event, so “let me see those hands up” if you will be there.
A "Planned" birthday surprise
The Always in Style Planned Parenthood Luncheon and Fashion Show was hosted Nov. 12 at Michael’s On East.
The four co-chairs took turns on stage speaking, and when it was Co-Chairwoman Laura Proctor’s turn, she was in for a surprise. Co-Chairman Richard Ferrell ran a bouquet of pink roses up to her, and wished her a happy birthday. Laura turned 60 Nov. 12, and what better way to celebrate than with a lunch with her friends and a fashion show to top it off. Happy birthday, Laura!
