Cheri Coryea appointed Manatee County administrator

Manatee County commissioners today officially named Cheri Coryea as acting Manatee County administrator.

Coryea, who has served Manatee County for 26 years and currently serves as a deputy administrator, will serve for a one-year term as the board looks for a permanent replacement.

"She is an amazing individual," said former county commissioner John Chappie, who spoke in support of Coryea during the commission meeting. "You're not going to find anybody any better."

Manatee County Administrator Ed Hunzeker retires March 1.
