A May vacation often arrives just in time, not too long after the hustle of season has died down but not so far into the bustle of summer as to conflict with plans made with family and friends.
The Longboat Key Chamber of Commerce has the perfect way to act on that bit of holiday timing with a getaway to Paris.
Planned for May 13-19, the Chamber is looking for people to join in on a seven-day/five night trip to “one of the most exciting cities in all of Europe.’’
Oh, and tennis fans, those dates might ring a bell, oui?
Qualifying for the 2020 French Open at famed Stade Roland Garros will be underway, and a side trip to the red clay courts is optional.
The escorted trip is $2,795 per person, based on double occupancy and a tour group of 25. Included is air fare from Tampa International Airport, hotel stay at the Arioso Hotel (or similar) in the center of Paris, daily breakfasts, one lunch and two dinners.
Also included is deluxe bus transportation, a full-day guided tour of Paris, which includes lunch on the Seine River, visit to the Montmartre district and a ride on the Little Train of Montmartre, a walking tour of the historic Marais district and all of Paris’ famous landmarks.
Tennis fans can add a trip to Roland Garros for an additional $199.
To lock in your spot, a $600 non-refundable deposit is due by Feb. 13.
“So, get your group together and sample the very best that the French capital has to offer plus experience the red clay of Roland Garros,’’ chamber president Gail Loefgren said in a statement.
For information or a reservation form contact Loefgren at the chamber office, 5390 Gulf of Mexico Dr., #102, Longboat Key or call 383-2466.
This is not the first time the chamber has ventured overseas.
In 2017, the chamber organized a nine-day excursion to China.
Also planned in the next month in the Chamber’s Meet, Greet and Eat! Event, a business to consumer expo set for 4-6 p.m. Feb. 18, at the Harborside Ballroom of the Longboat Key Club.
According to the chamber, the event is an opportunity to display products or services to the residents of Longboat Key. Residents are invited, along with managers, officers of island condo boards.
It’s the 15th annual edition of the event.
