Each year, Temple Sinai's women's group, Women of Sinai, holds a collection of clothes and other items to support local agencies that provide shelter to survivors of domestic abuse.

This year, the group held a collection in support of HOPE Family Services, which in addition to support for survivors, provides a youth-based program to teach children the signs of an abusive partner.

Though they typically collect donations on the first day of Rosh Hashanah, with online services, the group offered two days during the week to collect donations at the temple.

Members of the temple and community at large donated more than seven SUV carloads full of supplies to the organization throughout the week, which will now be sold in the HOPE Family Services resale shop. Proceeds from the shop benefit the organization's clients.
