After a summery 18 holes at the Harbourside Golf Course at the Longboat Key Club, the golfers of the Women's Golf Association joined in the ballroom for lunch on April 27. It was the closing outing of the season as snowbirds prepare to head north until fall.
The golf luncheon was the first time the ballroom had been used for a large group in a while. The golfers, mostly vaccinated, felt free to hug and catch up as they slowly found their seats for lunch.
"I feel invigorated by y'all being here," Key Club managing director Rick Konsavage said.
After a big round of applause for the hard work of the staff, President Margaret Lachmann took the podium once more. After clearing some club business, she moved to install the new board. Her successor as president will be Sandy Finnegan, joined by vice president Lyn Haycock, secretary Mary Taylor and treasurer Arleen Klein.
"I leave you in capable hands," Lachmann said.
