Members of St. Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church were happy as clams on May 4.
Friends and visiting family congregated for a clambake on the back lot of the church for dinner and the opportunity to catch up with old pals. For some, it was the last shindig before heading back north.
The Men's Club put on the event, and a team of volunteer chefs worked in the kitchen of the fellowship hall to get the dishes ready. For those less inclined to seafood, Lenny DiStefano prepared chicken marsala meals. Outside, members mingled around tables, happy to see familiar faces. The clambake was an indicator of events to come for church members, who are excited to get back to socializing.
"We're going to do a lot more things this summer," Men's Club President Chuck Sobieck said. "The Men's Club is ready to go."
