Now streaming on a device near you is a new podcast featuring Sarasota Police Chief Rex Troche. "Chat with the Chief" will cover initiatives by the city and the Sarasota Police Department that may otherwise go unnoticed by citizens.

The first episode, now streaming, features tasks performed by SPD’s Traffic Unit, including conducting traffic studies and investigating traffic homicides. It also includes a discussion about roundabouts in the city, including Gulfstream Avenue and U.S. 41.

Listeners can stream all podcast episodes at Buzzsprout.com/2162783.

"I wanted to share information and stories happening within our agency so listeners can understand the complexity and all the moving parts within the Sarasota Police Department," Troche said in a news release. "In the past, we've held community meetings in person, but not everyone could attend. Launching a podcast is the best way to share our message where listeners can access it at their leisure.”

Podcast listeners may provide feedback and ideas for future topics and episodes through the SPD's social media channels on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

"Chat with the Chief" is available on multiple platforms, including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Pandora, iHeart Radio, Amazon Music and YouTube.
