As the 2023 LECOM Suncoast Classic, held at Lakewood National Golf Club in Lakewood Ranch, enters its final round on Sunday, the tournament remains up for grabs.
Kevin Dougherty, who led the Korn Ferry Tour event after the second round, leads by one stroke. Dougherty shot 3 under par Saturday to bring his tournament total to 19 under par. Down by a stroke are Scott Gutschewski and Chase Seiffert at 18 under par. Ben Silverman and Tommy Gainey are tied for fourth at 17 under par while Nicholas Lindheim and Logan McAllister are tied for sixth at 16 under par.
Dougherty, 31, is seeking his first Korn Ferry Tour win after being a runner-up four times.
"I'm going to go out tomorrow and I'm going to try to play like I did Thursday, Friday and today," Dougherty said. "Just not going to put my heels in and put it on cruise control because that's definitely not the recipe for a champion to win. I'm just going to go and pretty much work my plan that I've had the entire week and add them up at the end and see how it goes."
Mac Meissner, who on Friday became the eighth Korn Ferry Tour player to shoot a 59, shot 2 under par Saturday and fell to 10th place at 14 under par for the tournament.
The final round will begin at 7 a.m. Sunday. The final pairing of Dougherty and Gutschewski will tee off at 12:40 p.m. The entire leaderboard can be found at the tournament's PGATour.com page.
