The Cardinal Mooney High beach volleyball team was out for revenge at the Sunshine State Athletic Conference state tournament April 21-22 in Orlando, and the Cougars found it.

The Cougars (18-1) met Bradenton Christian School (16-1) in the SSAC tournament final 11 days after the Panthers handed Mooney its only loss of the season, a razor-thin 3-2 match. In the tournament final rematch, the Cougars made sure things would not be close: Mooney beat BCS 3-0. It is the second-straight SSAC championship title for the Cougars program.

Mooney is not done, either. The Cougars will now transition into the Florida High School Athletic Association postseason, hosting a district tournament semifinal match April 25 at 4:30 p.m. against either Riverview High or Sarasota Christian.
