Braden River High football game at Palmetto High postponed

All other East County week two football games are currently to be played.

The Braden River High football team's (1-0) week two road game at Palmetto High, scheduled for 7 p.m. Sept. 1, has been postponed. 

Palmetto High (1-0) made the announcement Aug. 31, citing "unforeseen setbacks" to its new turf field following Hurricane Idalia. 

"The safety of our players and the quality of our field are of utmost importance to us, an we will not compromise on these standards," Palmetto said in a release. 

Palmetto said a rescheduled date for the game will be announced as soon as possible. 

All other East County football game are on schedule to be played. Lakewood Ranch High (0-1) will play a road game against Cardinal Mooney High (1-0) at 7 p.m. Sept. 1; The Out-of-Door Academy (1-0) will play a road game against Oasis High (1-0) at 7 p.m. Sept. 1; and Parrish Community High (1-0) will host Lemon Bay High (1-0) at 7 p.m. Sept. 2.
