Top residential real estate sales for 2023 in Longboat, Lido, St. Armands, Bird Key

A home on Bird Key tops the year's sales at $11.5 million.

1. Bird Key: $11.5 million

Douglas and Teresa Franklin, of Sylva, South Carolina, sold their home at 683 Mourning Dove Drive to Jerald and Kathleen Kamiel, of Sarasota, for $11.5 million. Built in 1996, it has six bedrooms, six-and-a-half baths, a pool and 5,748 square feet of living area. It sold for $4.34 million in 2016.


626 S. Owl Drive recently sold for $11.25 million, setting a new record for Bird Key.

2. Bird Key: $11.25 million

Henry and Dawn Duques, of Madison, Connecticut, sold their home at 626 S. Owl Drive to H. Lee Scott Jr. and Linda Scott, trustees, of Golden Oak, for $11.25 million. Built in 2021, it has six bedrooms, eight baths, a pool and 6,576 square feet of living area. 


3. Bird Key: $9.75 million

Julie McGue, of Michigan City, Indiana, sold the home at 622 S. Owl Drive to Cumberland Trust and Investment Co., trustee, for $9.75 million. Built in 2003, it has four bedrooms, four-and-a-half baths, a pool and 5,635 square feet of living area. It sold for $6 million in 2021.


Todd Lee Borck, trustee, of Winter Park, sold the home at 6877 Gulf of Mexico Drive to 6877 Gulf of Mexico LLC for $9.45 million.

4. Tramonto Estates: $9.45 million

Todd Lee Borck, trustee, of Winter Park, sold the home at 6877 Gulf of Mexico Drive to 6877 Gulf of Mexico LLC for $9.45 million. Built in 1998, it has four bedrooms, four baths, a pool and 4,820 square feet of living area. It sold for $4.8 million in 2021.


5. Bonaire at Longboat Key: $8.4 million

William Wayne Werzyn Jr. and Patricia Jo Werzyn, of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, sold their Unit 2 condominium at 5005 Gulf of Mexico Drive to 5005 GOM LLC for $8.4 million. Built in 2020, it has six bedrooms, eight baths, a pool and 4,646 square feet of living area. It sold for $6.6 million in 2021.


6. Lido: $7.5 million

Robert and Susan Lifeso, trustees, of Sarasota, sold the home at 150 Morningside Drive to Kenneth and Carrie Cox and Andrew Cox, of Sarasota, for $7.5 million. Built in 2000, it has six bedrooms, six-and-two-half baths, a pool and 6,843 square feet of living area. It sold for $3.8 million in 2005.

7. Lido: $7.48 million

Carol Williams, of Sarasota, sold the home at 1247 Westway Drive to Thomas O’Flynn and Cheryl Barr, of Summit, New Jersey, for $7,475,000. Built in 2001, it has three bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths, a pool and 5,039 square feet of living area.


8. John Ringling Estates: $7.4 million

Andrew and Judith Economos, of Longboat Key, sold their home at 25 S. Washington Drive to Nicholas Lee Reinhart, of Sarasota, for $7.4 million. Built in 1936, it has six bedrooms, six-and-a-half baths, a pool and 7,258 square feet of living area. It sold for $4.4 million 2020.

9. Country Club Shores: $7 million

Eric Van Severen, trustee, of Davenport, Iowa, sold the home at 596 Outrigger Lane to Michael and Christine Ellis, of Longboat Key, for $6,995,000. Built in 2004, it has six bedrooms, six-and-a-half baths, a pool and 5,892 square feet of living area. It sold for $3.8 million in 2019.


10. Lido: $6.66 million

Roberta Hill Barrett, of Clermont, sold the home at 1475 John Ringling Parkway to Kyle Simmons, of Sarasota, for $6.66 million. Built in 2000, it has four bedrooms, four baths, a pool and 3,936 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $2 million in 2010.
