The Sarasota Audubon Society and Serenoa Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society offers an education program in native plant landscape design beginning 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13 at the Audubon Society Nature Center, 999 Center Road in Celery Fields off Palmer Boulevard.
The classes are free and open to the public and will continue on the second Saturday of each month through April.
This program is presented by Pamela Callender, FNPS state chapter representative and member of both Sarasota Audubon and FNPS Serenoa Chapter. An eco artist who designs native plant landscapes for both commercial and home properties, she will share her artistic process that anyone can follow.
Learn to build a butterfly garden, how to attract birds in your yard, and create a new look for your property from start to finish. References and free literature will also be available.
The class will be held rain or shine with covered seating. Attendance is limited and reservations made be made by sending an email to [email protected].
