Manatee School District introduces new deputy superintendent of business services

The School District of Manatee County has a new deputy superintendent of business services. 

Rachel Sellers, who has been an audit supervisor for the Florida auditor general since 2017, will start as the deputy superintendent of business services Jan. 9. 

"We are extremely fortunate to find someone with the knowledge, skills and experience that Rachel brings to this important position within our school district," said Cynthia Saunders, the superintendent of the School District of Manatee County, in a news release. "She is an excellent addition to our leadership team, and we look forward to working with her."

Sellers' responsibilities with the school district will include supervising and directing budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, accounts payable, payroll and benefits.

Before becoming audit supervisor in 2017, Sellers served the Office of the Auditor General as audit coordinator from 2012 to 2017, lead senior auditor from 2011 to 2012 and senior auditor from 2001 to 2010.
