A woman practicing medicine without a license was arrested by Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office deputies.

Jaqlyn Michelle Tinaro, who was practicing under the name Jaqlyn Jacobs, has been charged with four felony counts of unlicensed practice of a health care professional. She saw patients at Virtue of Health at 4161 Clark Road. She was known for what she called live blood analysis, where she pricked the patient's finger and projected the enlarged slide on a monitor to analyze the blood cells for diagnostic purposes and in order to prescribe treatments and medications.

Dr. Arthur Hodge, the clinic’s medical director, said he was unaware that Tinaro was unlicensed and that she was diagnosing patients via live blood analysis. He was aware that his name was used to prescribe medications, which he described as "IVs and vitamins." He did not personally meet with any of the patients involved in the case.

Four victims described to investigators their interactions with Tinaro and extensive medical tests and treatments including Lyme disease testing, ozone intravenous therapy, medication for parasites and thyroid issues, and custom IV therapy. Tinaro represented herself as a medical doctor and wore a white lab coat monogrammed "Dr. Jaqlyn Jacobs." Her patients believed her to be a licensed practitioner.

The Florida Department of Health lists no licenses for any profession under Tinaro's name or her alias.

The Virtue of Health website previously included a photo of Tinaro, identified as Jacobs, wearing a white medical lab coat with her credentials noted as an NMD, understood to mean doctor of naturopathic medicine. Her photo and bio have since been removed.
