“Black Pearl Sings” tells the story of an unlikely friendship between a Library of Congress musicologist who wants to record undocumented slave-era music and an African American prisoner who possesses the knowledge needed for the project. Runs through July 30.

Waterside Place hosts a free family-friendly movie night sponsored by Grace Community Church. The first 300 people who attend receive a free popsicle from Siesta Pops. This month's movie is "Moana." The character Moana will be available for a meet-and-great with the kids from 7-9 p.m. The movie begins approximately at 8 p.m. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Bring lawn chairs or blankets. Concessions available include We B’ Poppin Popcorn and Kettle Corn. Face painting and inflatables for the kids will be available from 7-9 p.m.

A 1-mile fun run for kids is a summer held each Tuesday at Siesta Beach, through July 25. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. Kids receive a participation ribbon for each run. Kids who earn four ribbons will earn a free T-shirt.
