Sarasota County to host public meetings on superintendent selection

Sarasota County Schools will be holding a series of public meetings on June 12, leading up to a special school board meeting on June 14, which will see the selection of a new superintendent of schools.


Monday, June 12

Convening of the Superintendent Search Citizen Advisory Committee

8:30 a.m. (briefing of committee members) and 9:30 a.m. (semi-finalist interviews) at the AB room, The Landings office complex, 1980 Landings Blvd.

Committee members will individually interview semi-finalists for the position of superintendent, but will not rank or eliminate candidates. The committee will offer feedback to school board members in written form. Each interview once complete will be uploaded to the "Superintendent Search" page of the school district's website.

No public comments will be taken.


School Board of Sarasota County interviews

9:30 a.m. in School Board Chambers, The Landings Complex, 1980 Landings Blvd.

The School Board of Sarasota County will hold a series of group interviews with semi-finalists. These interviews will be livestreamed on the school district’s YouTube channel.

School board members are also conducting private, one-on-one interviews with each candidate via Zoom.

No public comments will be taken.

6-8 p.m. at Student Union, Pine View School, 1 Python Path


Wednesday, June 14 

Special School Board Meeting (final superintendent selection)

9:30 a.m. in the School Board Chambers, The Landings Complex, 1980 Landings Blvd.

During a special school board meeting, the School Board of Sarasota County will make its final superintendent selection and commence negotiations with the chosen candidate.

Public comments will be permitted.
