Sarasota will have a new high-end restaurant to complement some of its most luxurious addresses. Cameron Mitchell Restaurants has announced it will build an Ocean Prime location in The Quay.

Scheduled to open in late 2024 on Block 10 in the center of The Quay, Ocean Prime will have more than 9,500 square feet of space over two levels. The restaurant will include more than 350 seats, two bars and two private dining rooms. The second floor will feature sliding glass walls that open to the outdoors overlooking the Central Quay.

"We look forward to bringing our extraordinary Ocean Prime dining experience to Sarasota," said Cameron Mitchell, founder and CEO of the restaurant group, in a news release. “Sarasota is close to my heart and where I have vacationed with my family for nearly 20 years.”

The opening of Ocean Prime Sarasota will be CMR’s sixth Florida restaurant overall and the fourth Ocean Prime in the state, with locations in Tampa, Orlando and Naples. The restaurant group already has established a foothold in the Sarasota area. It also owns and operates the Rusty Bucket Restaurant and Tavern at University Town Center.

According to the release, the restaurant’s upscale menu of seafood and steaks, original cocktails and special features includes smoking shellfish tower, sea scallops with parmesan risotto, prime steaks, 10-layer carrot cake and more.

“GreenPointe Developers and Cross Lake Partners are thrilled to welcome Ocean Prime to Quay Sarasota Waterfront District,” said GreenPointe President Grady Miars in the release. “It was a natural choice to bring Ocean Prime’s award-winning elevated experience to Quay Sarasota’s scenic waterfront setting, and we know it will enhance the experiences of those who live, work and play here.”
