Condominium sales in downtown Sarasota have soared to new heights. At $11.15 million, the highest-priced condo listing in the history of Sarasota and Manatee counties has sold.
Located at 605 S. Gulfstream Ave., in the Epoch building, the two-level penthouse of more than 6,000 square feet of interior space offers views of Sarasota Bay and the city’s skyline. Moriah Taliaferro of Premier Sotheby’s International Realty’s downtown Sarasota office represented the seller.
“This record-breaking home sale in downtown Sarasota exemplifies the prestige and desirability of the luxury real estate market in the area,” Taliaferro said in a news release. “The exceptional penthouse takes full advantage of enhanced grandeur, located in one of Florida’s premier sun-soaked destinations.”
The minimalist contemporary aesthetic of the home is carried outdoors to a private terrace atop Epoch at more than 200 feet high, extending living space by an additional 1,700 square feet. Floor-to-ceiling glass and tempered glass railings offer unobstructed vistas in every direction.
The final sale price was a 30% discount from the $16.35 million listing price when it hit the market in June 2022, according to a report in sister publication Business Observer. The condo was on and off the market since, according to Longboat Key Coldwell Banker Realty agent Kelly Baldwin, who represented the buyers.
