Details: Working in teams of two, campers will use both the Dash and Cue robot. Both types of robots can sense, act and think. Campers will use block-based coding on different apps to control their robot and will then use their new skills to complete various challenges including soccer and the catapult challenge. Robots are for camp use only; campers will not be allowed to take them home.

Details: Each week offers new experiences full of activities that include beach days, off-campus field trips and special themed activities. Time on campus is spent experiencing a wide variety of activities which might include water days, arts and crafts, cooking, hands-on science, outdoor sports and games, team building, drama and leadership building activities. Activities include Under the Big Top (Circus fun including Ringling Circus Museum and Payne Park), Where the Wild Things Are (animal-themed activities including activities at Sarasota Jungle Gardens), Around the World Race (world travel-themed activities and trips), A Bug’s Life (Bug-themed activities and specimen collection) and Under the Sea (Undersea-themed activities including Mote Aquarium and a visit to Venice Beach.

Details: This program provides an opportunity for upper school students to develop job skills and earn volunteer hours. Counselors in Training (CITs) will assist our counselors with day-to-day camp activities at Thunder Sports Camp. This might include set-up and break-down of sports games, assisting head counselors with sports games with children and helping at pick-up and dismissal. CITs must commit to the entire week and uphold expectations of professionalism in order to participate.
