Police investigate shooting at Siesta Key North Bridge

Two men shot each other during an argument at a late-night party.

A Wednesday night shooting at the 1300 block of Siesta Drive is under investigation by Sarasota police after officers were dispatched to a park east of the Siesta Key North Bridge at about 11:30 p.m.

Witnesses told officers that a fight started for unknown reasons during a large party being held there. Shots were fired and two men, both 21 years old, suffered non-life threatening injuries and were transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital by witnesses. 

Officers have determined the incident is isolated and the public is in no danger. The case remains active as the investigation is ongoing.
