Photo by Lori SaxFor its Flower Talk: Flowers By Design luncheon, the Founders Garden Club of Sarasota welcomed acclaimed floral designer and author Ingrid Carozzi of Tin Can Studios Nov. 9 at the Sarasota Yacht Club.
The ballroom was packed with ladies wearing their finest floral-print dresses. Carozzi, a leader in sustainable floral design who was named "Best Florist" by New York Magazine, spoke to the club's members and guests about her process and philosophy.
Kathy Coffey, Kitty Cranor and Grace Riker co-chaired the event, which raises money for the club's community projects. Every two years, the club selects a signature community project to assist with. In February 2022, it awarded $50,000 to fund a pollinator meadow in the Celery Fields area.
Founded in 1927, the Founders Garden Club is one of the oldest garden clubs in the country and has contributed more than $435,000 over the last 30 years to community projects.
