One relationship at a time. That’s how Tidewell has grown and strengthened our community over the past 40+ years–by improving the quality of life for patients, families, and community members with compassionate care one person, one patient, and one relationship at a time.
Tidewell Hospice, a not-for-profit organization, offers care provided by expert care teams wherever patients call home – a private residence, assisted living care facility, nursing home, hospital, or Tidewell care facility. Serving Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee, and Sarasota Counties, the Tidewell Foundation provides the philanthropic support needed to ensure all who need the world-class care of Tidewell Hospice in our community can receive it, regardless of their ability to pay.
Tidewell isn’t just end-of-life care though. Tidewell has grown to provide a variety of services to patients and the overall community to uplift all who come in touch with the end of life’s journey. Music and pet therapy helps ease pain while creating moments of joy for both patients and their loved ones. The Wishes fund fulfills a last wish for patients – like a final flight for a former pilot, renewing wedding vows, or a special evening out with a spouse or loved one. This program lifts the spirits of patients and families, offering a final positive memory.
Tidewell’s grief services uplifts not only patients and their families, but all in our community who have lost a loved one through free support groups, individual and family counseling, and Tidewell’s Blue Butterfly program which helps children aged 5-18 and their caregivers grieve the death of a significant person in their lives. And the Tidewell Honors Veterans program honors Veterans’ service and provides specialized hospice care recognizing the unique challenges facing many military families.
Tidewell brightens lives with their compassionate, full-life care. And it starts with generosity. The generosity of donors, volunteers, staff members, and our community ensures those who need it most receive care from professionals who make a difference – with the warmth of human touch, with the comfort of a reassuring voice.
Help uplift our community by getting involved. Give respite to a busy caregiver by volunteering, or a final bright memory by donating. You can also get involved by joining the Tidewell Foundation at their 15th Annual Signature Luncheon, their largest fundraiser for the year. This year’s keynote speaker will be Marilu Henner–a health advocate, memory expert, New York Times best-selling author, and Golden Globe Nominated actress.
These are just a few of the many ways Tidewell is bringing compassionate full-life care to all, and of the ways you can get involved. To learn more about Tidewell’s services and how you can help brighten lives, visit TidewellFoundation.org.
