It was all treat and no trick at Seaplace Condominium for the residents' Halloween Happy Hour.
The condominium threw its annual Halloween party on Oct. 27, and some residents said it was the best one yet.
Susan Pariseau, a Seaplace resident, said that this is the first year that a big group of people dressed up in costumes and got creative with it. Some of the noteworthy costumes were a ghost, a witch, and husband-and-wife pumpkins. A couple of residents and their guests were inspired by the recent movie, “Barbie” and dressed up in all pink.
June Hessel, head of the event planning committee, chose three secret judges to pick winners for the costume contest. Little did she know, Hessel wowed the judges herself with her “Barbie’s Granny” costume and snagged second place. In third place came Maria Pozantidis, who was a hippie. Sandy Endres won the first place title with her impression of a flapper girl.
Don Cooks, who won the costume contest last year, decided to step down this year and let someone else take the limelight. Last year, he came dressed as a monster, and no one knew it was him because he played the part so well. Cooks dressed as a cowboy this year.
“I love halloween,” said Cooks. “The committee does such a great job at making these parties fun. The food is delicious and the people are always the best part. Such a blast.”
