Seventeen-year-old boy murdered in Bradenton

A 17-year-old male has died after being run over by a car Saturday at 5:07 p.m. in the 4600 block of 4th Avenue Drive East in Bradenton.

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office, in a release, said the driver of the car, 19-year-old Josh Oviedo, has been charged with murder. Oviedo fled the scene and was arrested a short time later behind a nearby shopping plaza that was not identified.

The report said the two teenagers had been arguing. The 17-year-old, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. The report did not identify a place of residence for either teen.

The investigation continues.
