Lakewood Ranch farmers market is named No. 1 in Florida

The Farmers Market at Lakewood Ranch has been named the top farmers' market in Florida. 

From June 19 to Sept. 18, the public voted on their favorite farmers market for the 15th annual America's Farmers Market Celebration. 

The American Farmland Trust and the Farmers Market Coalition sponsor the vent, which is the only annual ranking of the top farmers markets voted on by the public in the U.S.

Lakewood Ranch's farmers market, which also ranked 22nd in the nation, is entering its sixth season. 

The market has more than 100 vendors that set up shop at Waterside Place on Sundays. 

The market is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Sunday.
