Conrad Coovert, 33, was arrested on April 3 on charges of child abuse that occurred in New Mexico.

Coovert’s address is listed as a Longboat Key address.

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office executed the warrant issued by the Albuquerque Police Department.

According to the Albuquerque Police Department’s X (Twitter) account, “Coovert has been charged for allegedly luring a 14-year-old from their home with plans to take them back to Florida.”

Coovert faces a second-degree felony charge.

Coovert waived a formal arraignment and pleaded not guilty on April 9, according to public court documents.

In February, Coovert was also charged with battery on a person 65 years of age or older in Sarasota County after punching his mother in the chest, according to a probable cause affidavit.

He also previously faced charges for child pornography and enticing a child for indecent purposes in Thomas County, Georgia, in 2015.
