Sarasota Orchestra CEO Joseph McKenna delivers a warm welcome to his guests at the Masterworks 7 Dinner at the Ritz-Carlton Beach Club.
Photo by Janet CombsThe Masterworks 7 Dinner was held by the Sarasota Orchestra on April 9 at The Ritz-Carlton Beach Club's Ridley's Porch, for an intimate crowd of 89.
Overlooking a stunning Gulf of Mexico sunset that did not disappoint, guests were treated to a cocktail hour, dinner, and a special performance by John Miller, who is the principal bassist with the orchestra.
Featured guest conductor of the Masterworks 7 is Austrian Katharina Wincor, whose recent engagements include Seattle, Detroit, and Vancouver Symphonies, and Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin. The 2020 prize-winner at the Mahler Competition in Bamberg, Wincor is a rising star.
Joseph McKennna, president and CEO, and Paul Sciré, Sr. director of donor engagement and major gifts, delivered opening remarks and warmly welcomed the orchestra enthusiasts.
With a mission to engage, educate and enrich the community through high-quality, live musical experiences, the Sarasota Orchestra hosts the dinners prior to its weekend Masterworks concerts to give attendees a sneak peek of guest speakers, conductors and solo artists to come.
