The Circus Arts Conservatory’s fundraiser, held April 13 at the Sailor Circus Arena, was a smash follow-up to its inaugural outing last year. Grammy-winning international DJ Alan Walker, who flew in from Norway to make sure Sarasotans danced like no one was watching, kept everyone on their feet during his performance.
The dance music started around 7 p.m. and lasted late into the night with the dance floor packed for Walker’s set.
Throughout the event, chaired by Donna Koffman with the help of a committee of Umbreen Khalidi, Nathalie Michalowski and Melissa Morsli, CAC encouraged partygoers to donate. To remind them of what they were supporting, several circus performers popped up throughout the evening to entertain the crowd, including a group of performers from the Sailor Circus to kick off the evening.
Proceeds from the event benefit the CAC, which holds a variety of programs, performances and outreach to keep the circus arts alive and well.
