Candlelight services, Christmas caroling and Hanukkah dinners. No one celebrates the holidays better than the six congregations of Longboat Key.
Here is a roundup of where to worship this holiday season on the island.
Rev. David Marshall, 563 Bay Isles Road
A Blue Christmas service will be held at 4 p.m. on Dec. 12 to offer prayers for lost loved ones. The Christmas Eve service will start at 5 p.m.
Rev. Julia Piermont, 6400 Gulf of Mexico Drive.
Its Christmas Eve candlelight service will be at 5:30 p.m. with a full choir singing Christmas carols.
Rev. Brock Patterson and Rev. Jeffrey Nunes, 6200 Gulf of Mexico Drive
Christmas Eve Communion and Candlelight service begins at 5 p.m. in the sanctuary.
Rev. Kenneth Blyth, 40 North Adams Drive
Candlelight Christmas Eve services will be at 5 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. The Christmas Day service is at 10 a.m.
Rev. Robert Dziedziak, 4280 Gulf of Mexico Drive
Christmas Eve Vigil Mass begins at 4 p.m., followed by Christmas carols at 8:30 p.m. There will be a Christmas Vigil mass at 9 p.m. Christmas Day masses will be at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 25.
Rabbi Stephen Sniderman, 567 Bay Isles Road
The eight days of Hanukkah start on Dec. 25. Friday Evening Shabbat services will be 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 27, with a Hanukkah dinner following at Michael’s On East. Reserve your spot by Dec. 20. Call 383-3428.
