Hazardous household waste drop-off set for Feb. 3

The city of Sarasota and Sarasota County will host a household hazardous waste collection event from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 3, at 1699 Morrill St.

Walk-ups are not accepted, so remain in your vehicle. For safety purposes, place all materials in the trunk of your vehicle so staff can unload everything.

Examples of accepted items include aerosols, automotive products, fertilizers, gasoline, pesticides, pool chemicals, vehicle batteries, paint, electronics including TVs and computers, solvents and thinners, and more. 

Not accepted are tires, ammunition, containers larger than five gallons, fireworks, medicines sharps and radioactive materials.

No commercial or other organizational waste will be accepted.
