When did you start playing lacrosse?

I started during my freshman year. All my friends were playing so I decided to play. I just wanted to be included. It took me until the beginning of my sophomore season to actually get the hang of it.

What is the appeal to you?

I love the team. The group of girls we have here is small but we're all like family.

What is your best skill?

Oh, I don't know. I'll say getting open for the girls coming up the field (in transition) and on clears.

What have you been working to improve?

I think my stick skills have improved a lot this year, just in catching and throwing. I've been practicing more and I can see the improvement.

What is your favorite memory?

Beating Newsome High in overtime last year. It was just a cool moment for our team.

What is the outlook for this year's team?

It's probably the best team I have been on. We all take criticism well from each other and respect each other and that's a big help.

What is your favorite food?

I love pasta, especially Alfredo.

What is your favorite TV show?

"Prison Break." Watch it. It's great.

What is your favorite school subject?

I love my yearbook class. It's fun. It's a chance to be creative and put something together.

What are your hobbies?

I like to go to the beach and tan. Should I say I like to read? (Laughs.) Oh, in my free time I like to practice with (senior teammate) Susan Lowther. That's what I do.

Which superpower would you pick?

I would want to be invisible so I could spy on everyone.

What is the best advice you have received?

Honestly, it is probably Susan telling me I need to get open for passes more. That made me realize that I need to work harder.

Finish this sentence: "Alexandra Hernandez is …"

Sarcastic. Sarcasm is my way of coping with everything.
