1942-2024

Margaret “Pat” McGouran, resident of Bradenton, FL, passed away on February 17, 2024 at the age of 81. Pat was born March 3, 1942, in New York City, to Peter J and Mary K (McKiernan) Lavelle. After graduating from Mother Cabrini High School, Pat met the love of her life, Daniel P. McGouran. They married in 1967, and remained married until his death in 2002. Pat went on to have three children, Suzanne M, Peter J and Daniel K. McGouran. She was involved in various organizations including St. John Church and School and Leonia Public Library in Leonia, New Jersey. After moving to Florida in 2007, Pat volunteered for Save Our Seabirds and The Woman’s Guild of St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic Church on Longboat Key, where she served as Membership Chair from 2008 - 2020. She’s survived by her two sisters, Susan C. Binder and Kathleen M. Connor, her three children, two grandchildren, Kevin and Matthew McGouran and daughter-in-law, Beth Klavir. The Funeral Mass will be held in New Jersey and she will be laid to rest at Madonna Cemetery in Fort Lee, next to her husband.
