Sarasota County officials broke ground on the new Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Administration Center in Twin Lakes Park.

Located at 5883 Hummingbird Ave., the project consists of two structures: an administration building with 12,635 square feet of general office space for PRNR administrative staff, and a 5,649-square-foot multipurpose building that includes two large meeting rooms with accompanying support facilities and public restrooms for adjacent athletic facilities.

Six PRNR divisions will operate out of the new administration building, streamlining procedures and customer service.

The design phase of this project began in the summer of 2022, and the project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2025.

Total cost for the building is $12.78 million.
