Shoppers and discount lovers, it's your weekend.

St. Mary, Star of the Sea, Catholic Church will hold its annual rummage sale March 8-9.

Last year, the church broke its record by selling over 800 tickets to the early bird sale. There was a line that started at the door at Father Edward Pick Hall and wrapped around the church.

People can find deals on items such as artwork, furniture, housewares, clothing, linens, toys, books and more. Volunteers from St. Mary have been donating items for the sale since last fall. They have worked all week to prepare.

The presale on Friday offers first pick of the items, but Saturday offers the discounts with departments marking items on sale as the day goes on.

Tickets are $5 for the Early Bird Sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m on March 8. The regular sale is free admission from 9 a.m. to noon.

Nancy Gornto, who is doing publicity for the sale, said, "It is a fun community event with some wonderful treasures to be discovered through all of the departments and the unique bargains."
