Seaplace Condominium had a snapping good time at its March party.
A doo-wop group, the Goldtones, performed for residents on March 13 at the clubhouse. Coordinator June Hessel called them the “most requested doo-wop group in Florida.”
The Goldtones use their four-part harmony to transport people back in time as they sing classic doo-wop tunes from the 1950s to the 1980s. These songs include “This Magic Moment,” “In the Still of the Night,” “A Teenager In Love” and “Johnny B. Goode.”
Gary Blomberg, Guy Tann, Jim Bramante and Robert Fleig have been a part of the Goldtones for the past 10 years. Blomberg said each of them brings a great deal of singing experience. At the party, the group promoted its upcoming Western Caribbean cruise that leaves on Jan. 2, 2025, from Tampa.
Residents ate an Olive Garden dinner and danced the night away to their favorite oldies tunes.
“This brings me back to when I would sing these songs for karaoke on 45’s,” said resident Terise Levine. “I love being able to dance with everyone here at Seaplace to the amazing Goldtones.”
